These poems were written by Conor's ever loving Nanny,
Lesley Strickland.

We never knew that morning, what sadness the day would bring,

When a special heart stopped beating and we could not do a thing,

The birds stopped singing in the trees,

The wind died down, there was no breeze,

Time stood still for one and all,

As the angels came to call.

Their gentle wings touched your beautiful face,

They thought they were taking you to a better place

But they did not know our hearts would break,

When our darling Conor they decided to take.

We would give all we have to have you back for a while,

Just one more tiny moment, just one more gorgeous smile.

Imagine if you can Gods garden up above,

And two special tiny boys who went there with our love,

To laugh and chase the butterflies that flutter all around,

Running, playing in the sun, feet lightly on the ground.

So if you catch a butterfly,

Please let it go again,

It may just have been sent from heaven,

From our two very special little men.

To my Mum who wrote these poems,
Thankyou for these words and for everything you've done for me.
I love you Mum,

This is me and my Nanny who wrote these beautiful words for me. Thankyou Nanny xx

A couple of poems i have come across in my time as an Angel Mummy.

My Mum is a survivor or so i've heard it said,

But I can hear her crying when all others are in bed,

I watch her lay awake at night and go to hold her hand,

She doesn't know I'm with her to help her understand.

But like the sands upon the beach that never wash away,

I watch over my survivng Mum who thinks of me each day.

She wears a smile for others, a smile of disguise,

But through Heaven's open door I see tears flowing from her eyes.

My Mum tries to cope with my death to keep my memory alive,

But anyone who knows her knows it's her way to survive.

As I watch over my surviving Mum through Heaven's open door,

I try to tell her Angels protect me forevermore.

I know that doesn't help her or ease the burden she bears,

So if you get a chance call to her, show her that you care.

For no matter what she says, no matter what she feels,

My surviving mum has a broken heart that time wont ever heal.

And especially for Callum

These are my footprints, so perfect and so small,

These are my footprints, never touched the ground at all.

I don't need these tiny footprints for now I have my wings,

These tiny little footprints were meant for other things.

You will hear my tiny footprints in the patter of the rain,

Gentle drops of Angel tears, of joy and not from pain.

You will see my tiny footprints in butterflies when they dance,

I'll let you know i am with you if you just give me the chance.

You will see my tiny footprints in the rustle of the leaves,

I will whisper names in the wind and call each one who grieves.

Most of all these footprints are found in my mummy's heart,

Cos even though I am gone we will never part.
